Why you need a Marketing Plan
First of all, if you are an entrepreneur serious about your business, you should already know that without planning, you can’t go far.
For a business to grow, the owner needs to know where he /she is at presently, where he / she is heading and what he / she wants to achieve. Without planning we aimlessly head to nowhere and most likely achieve nothing or very little.
Marketing is the breath of a business – without it there can be no survival of any business. So creating a successful marketing plan is pivotal to our business success.
If in essence Marketing is the sum of processes that provide a much needed, a much desired product or service to the right target market, then marketing plan describes thoses processes in detail.
In your Marketing Plan:
– You can determine which of these processes are right and appropriate for you and your business;
– When and where to activate & complete them;
– Whom to involve in their execution;
– How much do you need to spend or are you willing to spend for them;
– What do you want to achieve with their use;
– What feedback procedures you need to set up that will help you indentify your progress and if you are on the right track.
Writing these answers down in small separate sections will give you:
– Clarity of direction and focus;
– Sense of Purpose;
– Motivation for action.
A Marketing Plan is going to assist you become increasingly known as a professional; it will assist more of those people in your target market become more aware of your services and products and will assist in the establishment of your brand.
Ultimately this is how you can:
- Attract more clients
- Increase profits
- And up-level your business.
However, you do need to make sure that these plans don’t just stay on paper but you act upon them. Otherwise, it becomes a useless exercise.
